Frequent readers of my blog will know about my mission to find the ultimate ‘everyday’ lipstick. I thought I had succeeded a few times before, but after a little while I always realised the lipsticks just weren’t quite what I was after. But this time, this time, I think I have found my match!
I was in Liverpool yesterday with my sister, and we innocently strolled into the MAC store. I had previously told her that I was looking for a lipstick that was ‘my lips, but better’. Steph has a good eye for things, and immediately picked up one of the new Cremesheen + Pearl lipsticks, in Peach Blossom.
When I first read the name, I wasn’t too sure – ‘peach’ was never a shade that had appealed to me. Little did I know that it’s what I’d been looking for all along!
The Cremesheen + Pearl collection aim to have creamy texture (check) with a high-shine, shimmering finish – I’d never say the finish of this lipstick was shimmering, but it does have a lovely sheen to it. I’ve made the mistake of thinking a truly shimmery lipstick would be a good everyday one ‘Pervette by Mac’ and it just wasn’t.
The moment I tried the lipstick on, I fell in love with it. It is just exactly what I have been looking for this – I really hope that MAC keep this as a permanent shade. On that note, does anyone know what the situation is with that?
Here’s how it looks on my lips:
See what I mean about the ‘your lips, but better’ remark? It is a very sheer lipstick, but that’s just what I was after. It lasts quite well too – because it is creamy, it doesn’t just slide off your lips. Worth the £14, without a doubt.
Have you tried any of the MAC Cremesheen + Pearl lipsticks? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
