I’m not going to lie – I haven’t been a diet angel this week. In fact, I’ve almost eaten what I’ve fancied within reason…but how would this affect my weight loss journey?
Within the space of a week, I usually allow myself one ‘cheat’ meal in order to trick my metabolism into thinking I’m still consuming a larger number of calories. I have to admit that this week, I’ve actually had a total of three cheat meals – one trip to Pizza Hut with friends, one chip shop takeaway and a meal out with my friend Emily, where I had a veggie burger.
The rest of my meals have been largely healthy – salads and vegetable-based, but I automatically assumed that these cheat meals would have ruined any chance of weight loss this week.
I haven’t been snacking too much this week (apart from the odd packet of crisps – but they were McCoy’s, so I feel justified!). However, have been drinking skinny latte’s (with a cheeky bit of gingerbread syrup, making me feel like I’m having a snack). At just 95 calories for a small one from Costa, if they are one of the only ‘snacks’ I’ve been having I’ve been saving myself a fair few calories.
This week was meant to be my week back at the gym, but after my Tiffany Rothe workout last week left my back muscles in agony, I didn’t end up going to the gym until Monday.
I did 50 lengths in the swimming pool, which I actually did in my record time. I’m really looking forward to properly getting back into exercise, and really hope to do more in the coming week.
So I haven’t been a saint this week, but how did I do?
Weekly weight loss: 2lbs ** Total weight loss: 9 lbs
I am SO thrilled to have still lost 2lbs this week!! I’m almost back to my pre-holiday weight, which is amazing. I know I still have a way to go to reach my goal but I’m glad to be back on track. I feel like I’ve cheated some laws of science this week by still losing weight but not being particularly healthy, but I’m not motivated to get super healthy and lose weight that way!
