Many of my long-time readers and YouTube viewers will know that I am big on eyeliner – I mean, REALLY big. I love smokey, grungey looks and a slick of black liner always helps to achieve this.
I was thrilled to be invited to a masterclass with 17, run by the lovely make up artist Vanesa Guallar – the event is actually taking place on Thursday, and today I received a lovely preparatory package in the post (try saying that after a few drinks!). The event includes an eyeliner masterclass, and I was sent one of the liners from the new 17 Eyeliner Studio range – the Smoulder Gel Eyeliner.
This cute little pot retails for £3.99 from Boots, which is a complete bargain. It comes complete with the tiny brush you can see at the top of the photo – I’m usually not too keen on brushes that come with products, but decided to try it out anyway.
(Can you see where I couldn’t resist swatching the product before I took my photos? Naughty blogger!)
Using the brush, I swept some of the gel liner on my eyelid, super close to the upper lashline. The tiny brush actually made it really easy to be precise, and get it as close as I could.
The gel has quite a sturdy complexity, which makes you feel secure whilst wearing the liner. One of the reasons I can’t stand liquid liners is that they tend to move around, but there’s none of that going on with this product.
Ta da! I’m really happy with the finished look, and how quick it was to achieve. I can absolutely see myself using this product after the event, and can’t wait to go along and gather some more eyeliner tips and tricks from Vanesa.
