Review: Halo Feather Hair Extension – Follow-Up

Yesterday, I posted a very honest review of my experience with the Feather Hair Extension from Halo. Almost immediately after my review was published, Halo’s Managing Director contacted me personally expressing his regret at how I found the product, and offered to send out a replacement for a further review. I was incredibly impressed at how quickly and efficiently Halo dealt with my problem, and it really cemented for me that they are a great company in terms of how they work.

I wasn’t expecting the replacement feather extension to arrive so quickly, but around an hour ago the package arrived at my door. I was naturally feeling a bit dubious about opening the package after my experiences yesterday.

You guys know that I am nothing if not honest…in my book, this feather extension is still not all that much like the one promised on the website: http://www.halohairextensions.com/product_details.aspx?prod=341. Granted, it is MUCH more accurate than the one I received yesterday, however, on the website photo the feathers look fuller, more vibrant and generally better presented. These are thin, limp and, in the case of the longest pink one, breaking in the middle.

In terms of putting the product into the hair, after spending a good ten minutes with my sister figuring it out, I managed to get the feather into my hair. After initially trying to clamp the small ring together to hold it in (as per the instructions), it was still falling out of my hair instantly. I enlisted the help of my 6ft 2, very strong step-dad to try and clamp the feather in with pliers – still no luck. No matter how much hair I used in the loop, the feathers still fell out almost instantly. My main issue with this entire product is the fact that it is retailing for £14.99. You can understand the frustration at that.

I really dislike how much negativity this has all generated – I really, genuinely hate giving out bad reviews. I will say this, which is a very important point: Halo themselves have been immensely supportive, helpful and genuinely saddened by my experience with this product. Whilst I do appreciate this, the fact still remains that the product has not worked at all for me.

I really do hope to work with Halo in the future in terms of reviewing new products, and they have expressed their wish to do so also. I do feel that this whole experience has been a real shame.

Stay Creative,

Too bad. Halo people really need to put a check on their products before asking for reviews!

I truly admire your honesty! I think you did an excellent job with this review and the previous one too. Halo should check their product and make sure everything is correct and without any defects (I think that after these reviews they will get on that quickly!)
Personally, I would like to know how their costumer service is. Let’s say that I bought one of their products, what would my experience be to try and get a refund or a replacement if I am not satisfied. If they have great customer service and they are as helpful as possible to someone who is not writing a review, I think I would take a chance and purchase products from them.

That’s such a shame, they look great on the website! What are you going to do with both sets of feathers?

I think it’s actually nice to see someone who’s willing to give a completely honest review!
