So I may have jetted off on my late summer holiday this morning, but the fashion side of my brain is already looking forward to the new season! Last week whilst visiting Oxfordshire, I ended up buying my autumn/winter 2012 boots from River Island! It’s always something I look forward to, and wasn’t particularly looking for them but I’m so glad I stumbled across them!
Can you see why I’m absolutely in love with them?! They are reminiscent of Dr. Martens but have a more feminine edge. I adore the studs to death, and they probably swung it for me in terms of actually buying them.
Having lived in Leeds for the past three winters, I know what a good pair of boots needs to entail! Now that I’m back home in Cheshire I know that the winters aren’t as harsh, but I still wanted a good thick sole to combat any snow we might get.
From the front the boots look nice and plain, which is good for matching them up with outfits. The back may be a different story, but who can refuse studs!
So picture the scene…I walk in to River Island and the boots immediately grab my eye. I’ve probably decided in the first three seconds of seeing them that I will buy them. I start to dread the price – how can boots so gorgeous be even remotely reasonably priced…?
£40! Nope, you didn’t read that wrong (I had to keep checking!). What a complete and utter bargain for such amazing, sturdy and stylish boots. This sealed the deal immediately for me, and I took them straight to the till without even looking around the rest of the store – yes, I was that excited!
I decided to buy the boots a size bigger than my usual shoe size, as I love to wear super thick ‘cloud’ socks with boots (I wonder if anyone knows what I’m talking about…) I made the right decision for sure!
I’m never one to wish sunshine away, but I am quite looking forward to wearing these when I get back from my holiday.
What do you think of the boots? Have you started thinking about your Autumn/Winter boots for this year?
