They say that if you can make a healthy lifestyle last beyond the third week you’ve started to form a habit…luckily for me, I’m loving my new healthy life so much that there’s no way I could go back! At the end of week 3, I’m feeling refreshed and energised, and more motivated than ever.
Nevertheless, I have found myself craving certain foods this week – on Saturday night, my ‘cheat’ meal consisted of food at our favourite Indian restaurant for Tiz’ brother-in-law’s birthday. I don’t take well to spicy food, so my ideal dish is a mushroom korma (forgive the image from Google, but I didn’t want to take a photo of it in the restaurant!)
Ok, so I wish the one I had looked anywhere near as healthy as this…mine was swimming in the sweet sauce, and I had rice and half of a Naan bread too. I know it isn’t the best ‘cheat’ meal to have, but afterwards I felt…fine! I was worried that I’d feel ill afterwards but because I only ate around half the dish, I had no problems. I have to admit that I craved sugar again for a day or so afterwards, but fulfilled it by eating fruits like strawberries and melon.
Apologies again for another Google image, but we’ve literally eaten every strawberry in the house over the past few days! Tiz and I have been having them after dinner, which is no small feat considering that Tiz isn’t a big fruit eater. Winner!
I’ve been trying to keep steady with my food intake, not being daft but still limiting my ‘bad fats’ and excessive carbs. Find out if it’s been working at the bottom of this post…
I’ve been to the gym a total of 4 times this week, which I’m thrilled about! Three of those sessions have just been in the gym, doing lots of cardio and some weights, and the fourth time I went swimming (and did another 50 lengths!)
Exercise and the gym has really become a part of my life that I really do love. If I don’t go to the gym, I genuinely miss the exercise – if this isn’t a healthy habit, I don’t know what is! My gym membership doesn’t allow me to go at weekends, which is good as it gives my body a chance to heal and recover. Best of all worlds!
So, for the third week, here’s the moment of truth…
Weekly weight loss: 2 lbs ** Total weight loss: 8 lbs
Another 2 lbs – gone! I can’t quite believe that I’ve now lost over half a stone in three weeks. It really does prove that healthy eating and exercise are all it takes. Forget these fad diets, just use your head and be smart about it.
Here’s to another week of healthiness!
