Review: Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting in Irish Cream Pavlova

Phew, what a title! Despite how long it is, I do love unusual product and brand names, so this Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting in Irish Cream Pavlova got off to an immediate good start with me!

I do have to admit that I’m not a great lover of ‘multiple use’ products – I like a lip gloss to be a lip gloss, a blush to be a blush etc. I don’t know why, it’s an odd preference. This little tube claims to be for use on both lips and cheeks, but I decided to try it out only on the lips.

The texture is quite thick and somewhat sticky, which is just about OK on the lips but I wouldn’t dream of putting it anywhere near my cheeks. It would feel so…yuck. I’m not a big blush wearer anyway, but I would only ever use a powder as I don’t like to feel cosmetics on my face.

Let me start off with the positives – I adore the shade of this gloss, and think it is quite moisturising and doesn’t dry your lips out. These are all excellent qualities in a lip product, but unfortunately it does have downsides too.

Firstly, I’m not keen on the open tube format – with it being so thick, applying it with your finger on-the-go is a nightmare. It kind of slides around and your fingers are a mess afterwards. If it had an attached doe-foot applicator it would really enhance the product. Secondly, the colour came out very sheer. I don’t mind this too much, but it is SO much lighter than the shade you see coming out of the tube. Thirdly, the price – £10 for a 15ml tube!

I can safely say I will use it again, but would never purchase it myself (the product was  kindly sent to me as part of a Glossybox). I enjoyed trying it out, and the scent is yummy, but it’s not the product for me.

This looks so lovely on you, I would not purchase this (I got it in my Glossybox) because it smells and tastes SO strong that it leaves a sick feeling in my stomach x
