Anyone who follows my YouTube channel or reads my blog will know that, above all, my main stance on beauty is to love and embrace who you are. As long as you feel comfortable and confident, everything else will follow, and this is no exception when it comes to beauty!
I recently posted a video on my YouTube channel with some make up tips for those with pale or fair skin:
I have very fair skin (and hair!) and as a teenager I felt that this was somehow wrong, and that I should be more tanned. However, as I’ve grown and become more comfortable in my skin, I’ve really embraced my pale-ness and now quite like it!
Here’s the basic run-down of my tips:
- Enhance rather than cover up – embrace what you have and make the most of it! This isn’t just a tip for those with pale skin; every skin tone is beautiful.
- When it comes to foundation, don’t settle for a tone too dark for you. Some drugstore brands like GOSH and Revlon have lighter shades, and high-end brands like Illamasqua even do a white foundation in their Skin Base line – mix this with a shade that is too dark for you to find your perfect tone.
- Don’t neglect blush or contouring, but take it easy – less is more one pale skin.
- Bright red and pink lipsticks look great on all skin tones, but can look especially stunning on pale tones due to the contrast. Don’t shy away from them – go for it!
I hope these tips have been useful – remember: love who you are, you’re gorgeous!
