Whilst browsing around Superdrug the other day, my eyes were immediately drawn to a range of products that I have heard so, so much about – the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Gel Cream Eyeshadows. As they were priced at almost £5 each, and the colour range is quite limited, I wasn’t sure about whether to try any of them out…but my beauty curiosity took over and I caved in!
I opted for this gorgeous shade – Eternal Silver – as well as one other that I’ve yet to try out! I thought I would give this one a little review for you today.
I thought that this would make a great base shade for a smokey eye, or a fantastic highlighter for the inner corners of the eyes when it comes to bolder, more colourful looks!
I instantly thought the colour looked awesome – just what I was expecting. The packaging is also fantastic quality, much like the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner’s packaging too.
I decided to swatch the shadow on my hand before applying it to my eyes…
Look at that SPARKLE!
Initially, when it came to putting the shadow on my eyes, I wasn’t really sure how to go about it. For the first eye, I used my finger and for the second I used a brush. I think you get a much more intense look by using your finger to apply it, but I’m still not 100% sure how I’ll go about it in the future.
This is my eye right after applying the Color Tattoo:
I have quite defined eyelid creases, so it really would be a great test of whether the shadows creased!
I wore the Color Tattoo for a good few hours before taking this second photo – please excuse the darker picture, it was quite late!
Although some of the glitter and shimmer had fallen out on to my cheek (which was probably due to me rubbing my eyes due to essay stress!) I love that the shadow didn’t crease and only slightly lost its shimmer.
All in all, I am incredibly impressed with the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Eternal Silver. I can’t wait to try out the other one I bought…want to know which it is? Check back in a couple of days!
Have you tried out any of the Maybelline Color Tattoos? What do you think of them?
