Review: Models Own Aqua Violet Beetle Juice Nail Polish

Today I have another instalment in the series I like to casually title ‘Chyaz’s ridiculous new obsession with duo chrome nail polishes’…OK, so I don’t think the title will catch on, but I do have a gorgeous polish to show you today!

One of the Models Own polishes that came in the little set I bought a few days ago was the shade Aqua Violet from the Models Own Beetle Juice Collection.

I was sitting here stupidly trying to think of a way to describe the shade, before I realised that it is basically in the name! It has a mixture of blue and purple tones, which are striking on their own and magical when blended together in the bottle.

The thing I adore about this nail polish is that you can really see the two colours in the light – for some reason, the blue appears most in the middle with the purple at the sides. I’m sure there’s a scientific reason behind it but that’s not my strong point!

I have another fantastic thing to report about this nail polish – after wearing it for a day without a top coat, there’s not even a hint of a chip! I am super impressed as I am the clumsiest person in the world and chip nail polish within 10 minutes.

I think I can feel a little Models Own obsession coming on…my nail polish collection is growing at an alarming rate!!

I’ve been thinking here trying to think of a critical point about the polish but I just can’t come up with one. It gets a huge thumbs up from me!

Which Models Own nail polishes have you tried? What do you think of them?

Stay Creative,

That polish is amazing! If you like duo chrome, my new favourite is the Accessorize nail polish in “Aztec”, its absolutely GORGEOUS! you kinda need a base colour underneath or its too sheer but its a beautiful shimmery blend of gold, purple and blue with a bit of green! Stunning with aa blue or purple base coat first 😉 xx

Jitterbug by Collection 2000 is a pretty good dupe. It’s really amazing for how cheap it is. It goes on really smoothly, lasts for ages and only needs one coat. 🙂

Wow! Amazing! I have just purchased something really similar to this a couple of days ago. Only mine is a mixture of brown and purple! I was actually going for something simply brown, to get a “chocolate effect” on my nails, and I already own about 6 purple nail polishes anyway.
It was only at home, when I tried it out that I realised my nails were turning purple all over again! It’s really awesome, it has a different color in different lightings. It’s the shade “Princess Prunella” by essence by the way, and it’s the most awesome nail polish I’ve ever bought.
