There are certain products that I am very loyal to, as I’m sure you’ve noticed! I have always used the same Heat Protection Spray, but when I popped into Boots the other day, they didn’t seem to have it. So, as part of a 3-for-2 offer, I decided to pick up the James Brown Photo Fabulous Heat Protection Spray to try out for a change!
Now, I’ve read some reviews of this product where people have labelled the packaging as ‘tacky’ – I’m no stranger to tacky (my life is basically in leopard print) and I LOVE it! Embrace it, girls!
My usual Heat Protection Spray has no scent or colour; I was a bit shocked to find that the scent of this was so strong, and I didn’t really like it. Thankfully it didn’t last on my hair once it had dried, which was a plus point!
I’ve never used any of the James Brown products before and after this, I have to say I’m intrigued. After using it hair felt really soft and sleek – I don’t know if it did any more than my usual one, but it still kept my hair feeling lovely.
It retails for £7.19 in Boots, which shocked me a little at first, but I have to remember that it is a larger bottle that any I’ve used before. I use a total of 10-12 sprays on my hair for each blow-dry (my hair is super long!) and I still think it will last a long time.
I will certainly continue to use it on my hair until it has run out – I don’t think I would use it before straightening though (only on damp hair before blow-drying) – I think the smell would get to me. Please don’t get the wrong impression, by the way – it’s not a BAD smell, it’s just not my kind of thing. I like my hair and skincare products to be fragrance-free so that they don’t interfere with any perfume I might be wearing that day.
Have you used any of the James Brown Photo Fabulous products? What do you think of them – any recommendations?
