I’ve had a little bit of a love for lipgloss going on lately – I used to absolutely hate it due to the stickiness that comes along with most, but it’s actually set me on a little mission to find gorgeous shades that aren’t sticky.
I re-stumbled across the Bourjois Effect 3D Lipgloss in 48 Rose Romantic in Superdrug yesterday – I say ‘re-stumbled’ as I actually used this gloss on my boyfriend’s sister for her wedding make up! It looked beautiful on her, so I was tempted to try it out myself.
I have many a pink lipgloss and really wanted to try out a shade I haven’t used before. I liked the dusky pink shade of Rose Romantic, and even though the £7.69 price tag put me off a little, I popped it into my shopping basket.
I’m usually quite a fan of the doe foot applicator for lipglosses – it does the job well and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it right? Well, I have to disagree with myself there…I love the brush applicator that comes with the gloss!
There is a slight tickly feeling when applying the gloss with the brush but I got over it quite quickly. I also found it was very precise and stopped the gloss from spreading to areas you don’t want it to go – for example, over the sides, which is not a good look!
I rarely give a perfect review of a product but this comes very close! I adore how it looks on the lips and guess what? No stickiness! Not even a hint! It feels moisturising and soft on the lips, which is exactly what I want from a lipgloss. Top marks all round!
One slight criticism is that it doesn’t plump the lips noticeable, which is good for me as I hate it, but could be annoying for those wishing to achieve that effect.
Have you used any of the Bourjois Effect 3D lipglosses? What do you think?
