Review: Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

It’s not like me to post two foundation reviews in the space of two days, but when samples are available it would simply be rude not to try them out! Today I tried out the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation. As it was a sample, I don’t have the full bottle to photograph so please excuse the stock image!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

I’m always very dubious about foundation claims – the name of this product promises quite a lot in itself! It is designed to make you look brighter, more awake and radiant.

The shade I had in my sample is darker than my actual skin tone – upon further research into the shades, I was frankly shocked to find that the darkest shade was ‘True Nude’. This makes no sense to me – why alienate those with darker skin tones? This is a problem within the beauty industry that really does need to be addressed.

But, back to the product. I liked the moisturising feel of the foundation on my skin; I can’t stand foundations that dry your skin out. Once blended, the shimmer of the product really comes out.

I’m super sorry that my camera doesn’t pick up the shimmer too well, but believe me, it’s there!

I have to say that I did feel this foundation gave me a nice glow, although as it wasn’t in my correct shade I didn’t keep it on for too long. I found that the product took a little while to dry, which made my face feel uncomfortable for a bit. When it did dry it was slightly powdery, but that is probably a good thing considering the shimmer!

If I could match my correct shade I may consider using this foundation in the future. It retails for £8.99 which is very reasonable, especially if money was tight when it came to repurchasing a foundation!

Have you tried the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation? What do you think of it?

Stay Creative,

This is the foundation I’m using at the moment and it works great for me. And I’m lucky that I found a shade to fit my skin color, because I have really pale skin.
I love your reviews and you’re a really nice person.

I wish i could try out some of Rimmel london’s stuff, but I’m severely allergic to their foundation primer and I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a product and turn out to just be allergic 🙁
