Come on girls, admit it: we all have some bad beauty habits that we wish we didn’t. Be they big or small bad habits, changing them could make a huge difference to your overall happiness with they way you look and feel.
Us beauty bloggers and YouTubers are no exception. To prove it, I’m going to fill you in on 5 of the bad beauty habits I’m aiming to break for 2012!
1. Forgetting to moisturise at night
Thankfully, this is only a minor offence – I usually keep strictly to my skincare routine, but sometimes I just forget to moisturise my skin at night. It is essential for helping your skin to hydrate overnight and look gorgeous in the morning!
2. Not taking good enough care of my nails
Every now and then I go through a phase of trying to keep my nails strong and healthy…this always descends into the same routine of painting them every other day and leaving them damaged by the end. I’m really going to try and keep up with my OPI Nail Envy routine this year – I’m determined to have long AND healthy nails at some point!
3. Not making the most of my make up collection
Being a beauty blogger and YouTuber, I naturally have acquired quite a lot of make up. The problem is, I barely use any of it! I barely wear any make up on an average day (sometimes none at all, like today!). I want to try and be a little bit more experimental with looks on days when I feel like wearing a little more than usual, and for nights out too.
4. Putting off washing make up brushes until I need to use them again
When I use eyeshadow it is often a darker shade, which is great until it comes to using a brush that I have previously used for a smokey look. I don’t often wash my make up brushes straight away, which means that when I come to creating a natural eyeshadow look I’m faced with brushes that need the darker shades washing off them. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t leave them for days without washing, but I’m not very good at doing it until the last minute. Oops!
5. Neglecting my hair in terms of styling
I’m very big on making sure my hair is protected from things like heat damage, but I’m awful at actually doing anything with the style of it on a day to day basis! I just let it hang there most of the time. I’ve had friends who wish they had long hair tell me off for not learning to style it in any way. This must change!
I hope my little list has been interesting! Do you have any bad beauty habits that you’d like to break this year?
