I love receiving exciting new products to play with and review for you guys – today it is the turn of the DuWop Lip Venom Lipgloss in Buttercup. A sample tube of it was in this month’s GlossyBox and it looked very fun indeed!
I don’t really have any lipglosses in this shade so I was intrigued to see what it would look like on the lips.
According to the accompanying leaflet, the full size lipgloss retails at £16 – that is an awful lot to pay for a gloss so I was hoping it would be spectacular!
When I first applied this to my lips I instantly hated the stickiness – sticky lipglosses don’t do it for me at all, so that was a big no-no. When it was entirely coating my lips, I actually felt that it ‘sunk in’ more and started to feel a lot better. Until a few seconds later…
In the above photo I’m desperately trying to stop my lips squirming about – talk about a tingling sensation!! Ok, so it’s meant to be ‘lip plumping’ (something I hadn’t realised) but the tingling feeling seemed to go on forever! I actually had to take it off in the end because it was starting to hurt: this is absolutely not what you want from a £16 gloss!
I know that some people really love these tingling, plumping lipglosses but I am not one of them. In fact, I hate them! The gloss looks lovely on the lips, don’t get me wrong…I just can’t be doing with the feeling that comes along with it. One other plus point – it smells like sweets and is really quite yummy!
Have you tried the DuWop Lip Venom Gloss in Buttercup, or any of the other shades? What do you think of it?
