Review: Vivienne Westwood Melissa Ultra Girl Ribbon Black Shoes

I’ve had an (almost) lifelong Vivienne Westwood obsession, stemming first from her historical association with the Sex Pistols then morphing into a pure love for her designs. I’m lucky enough to own a few pieces of Vivienne Westwood jewellery, but have never owned any clothes or shoes of her design…until now! Introducing… the Vivienne Westwood Melissa Ultra Girl Ribbon Black Shoes!

On Thursday, after I’d finished my second year of university, I had a small breakdown and decided to buy a pair of Vivienne Westwood shoes that I’d been lusting after for a LONG time. I was on a complete retail high for about a day afterwards, and knew I had to share them with you as soon as they arrived – which was today!

When the doorbell rang, I literally ran down the stairs and physically squealed – yes, seriously – when I started to open the bag. I couldn’t quite believe that I’d bought them, and when they arrived it all started to seem very real…

They are pure beauty in a shoe! As you’ll be able to tell, the shoes are made from a special kind of rubber – one of the softest yet sturdiest kinds I’ve ever  come across. The bow is kind of marbled and multi-coloured, and the peep toe at the end is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Yes, I am aware of how much I’m gushing! The material also smells of bubblegum, which to me is the perfect finishing touch.

As soon as a slipped them on, I was stunned by how comfortable they are. I know for the price, £85, you’d expect them to be, but they seriously are heavenly. There is also the tiniest pad at the heel which gives your foot a little extra support. The rubber doesn’t feel hot or sticky, and because its so flexible your feet don’t feel constricted.

I know they come with a price tag, but I would seriously recommend these shoes to anyone. Without a doubt one of the best purchases I’ve made all year, and most definitely my new addiction!

Stay Creative,

I’ve been planning on buying some of these beauties when I start work in September. I think they’ll be perfect for wearing with my suit on the Tube & then slipping into my bag when I pop my heels on!

    Thanks for the insight!

I’ve seen the blue one with the heart aswell, i love them ! But it was love at first sight when i saw this kind of orange wallet with the beautiful logo on it <3 I saw it in Bluewater (this big shopping center in Kent) and i'm so saving to get it !! I discovered Vivienne Westwood in the manga Nana which is one of my favourite !!!

Your shoes are gorgeous, i'm sure it suits you perfectly =)

They are so cute! I didn’t think they look very comfortable until you said they’re made of rubber. I love the ribbon, you can pull so many colors from it. So worth the cash. Shoes always make me feel great!

Cute shoes, great that they are comfortable because often ballerina shoes can hurt in the back of your feet :/ They look lovely on you! 🙂
