Now, from the title you might think, “what gives Chyaz the authority to comment on the best winter coat of 2011?” Well, I shall tell you! Never before have I tried on SO many winter coats in SO many shops. I literally feel that I have tried on every coat known to man, and the one I eventually picked was by far the best value! It was from Primark and cost £25.
It is a gorgeous dark navy colour, has navy and gold buttons and gorgeous detail on the lapels. I actually featured it in my latest Outfit of the Day video, which you can view here:
And a close up of that lovely ruffling near the lapels:
So, why do I think the value is so great? I like to match the look, feel and quality of the item with the price and see which comes out best overall. I was willing to spend up to £100 on a winter coat – it gets extremely cold up here in Leeds and I feel the cold at the best of times!
I loved that this coat felt heavy but not stuffy; although it is from bargain brand Primark, the quality feels fantastic and long-lasting. The £25 price tag (although quite expensive for Primark) is wonderful, especially around this time of year.
I just love the classy feel of this coat. And the fact that I get to break a fashion rule each time I wear it (navy and black not being seen together…how outdated!).
What do you think of this coat? I’d love to know!
