Best Foundation For Pale Skin

Being a pale girl myself, people often ask me how I manage to find a foundation to suit my skin tone. The answer is that, although I rarely wear foundation, I have  found one that is perfect for my pale skin tone – the GOSH X-Ceptional Wear Foundation in 11 Porcelain.

I received a comment on one of my YouTube videos the other day which read: “I swatched the GOSH foundation you use today in Superdrug – you must be transparent!”. She didn’t mean it offensively and I didn’t take any offense whatsoever – I love being pale! But it did highlight to me that an almost shockingly pale foundation is needed for us super fair-skinned girls.

I know I’ve reviewed this product before, so this won’t be so much a review as an explanation of why the foundation is so good for pale skin.

Like many other pale girls, I have cool-toned skin which this foundation is perfect for. Some people have told me in the past that this is still a little too ‘orange’ for them, but I personally have never experienced that. I use a stippling brush to apply the foundation and it looks flawless every time.

Here is a photo of me on a night out wearing the foundation:

As you can see, the foundation photographs well and doesn’t make you look washed out – just nice and even. I actually really like being pale; I think pale skin is underrated, with fake tan and bronzed looks being favoured. Don’t get me wrong – some of my best and most beautiful friends pull off fake tan wonderfully, but it’s not for me.

The foundation costs around £7.99 from Superdrug, and a little goes a VERY long way. I have worn it on a few nights out and have over-estimated how much I need on the back of my hand every time. Great value for money and great for pale girls!

Do you have pale skin? Which foundation works best for you?

My favourite foundation is, definitely, 17 Skin Perfecting. It lasts ages and blends in well with my dry skin ^^
Though my special occasion foundation is Second Skin by Max Factor, my super pale sister gave it to me cuz it’s too dark for her but light enough for me – I’m quite light skinned but i’m not mega pale (though i’m white on msn! xD)

ooh I think this will be perfect for my friend. she is really pale too and I didn’t quite have a pale enough shade for her in my kit so I might have to pick some up.

I use Lily Lolo mineral foundation in shade ‘Doll Face’ – I don’t really like liquid/creme foundations and prefer powder as it doesn’t clog my pores as much and feels more natural.

I’m with you on being a porcelain princess and proud though!

I really HATE fake tan, for me it ALWAYS looks awful, Demi Lovato was wearing fake tan and she looked very, very weird and orange and terrible, she looks waaaaay better with her natural skin tone!
For me pale skin is always flawless, beautiful and elegant, I love it! <3 I have light skin, but not pale, I wish I could go wither, hahaha!

I use the same foundation as you, same shade actually, I have tried the revlon colourstay in the lightest shade and it’s not too bad but when it comes to value for money, GOSH wins hands down.

I’ve been using a Maybellaine liquid foundation for years but now I’ve finally ran out of the last lot I decided to try something different (especially as they’ve stopped doing the one I had!) So I just bought the Max Factor Smooth Effects, but I’ve not had chance to try it out yet. My skin is so pale (being a red head), so I will definately gives this a try too! 🙂

What is the coverage like? I’ve got a few marks/freckles and wondering if it will cover them up? Also how long does it last for if i was to apply it on during the day?

I think I might purchase it as I have really pale skin aswell. The thing is I’m using powder because I don’t wanna cover my beloved freckles, But I want to use liquid foundation to even out my face. I tend to have redness on my nose and cheeks. I also need a good concealer, my dark circles are really bad and I’ve tried so many !! I still havent found my holly grail concealer !

thanks for the review anyway, I’ll check it out next time I go to Superdrug !
