You might have noticed that I’m not the world’s biggest lover of lipglosses…there’s something about them that puts me off for everyday wear, and I think it might be that awkward moment when long hair gets stuck to your lips in the slightest breeze. With my hair being so long, it happens often and just really taints my love of lipgloss! Nevertheless, when I do wear it I always end up feeling nice and I have a small collection of (mostly) budget brand or ‘drugstore’ glosses.
I’m going to give you a run-down of the best drugstore lipglosses that I own and tell you why I like each one!
1. Collection 2000 Hot Lights Lipgloss in Star
Since the moment I received this (in a parcel sent my the lovely Harriet aka Harriet1984 on YouTube) it has been my favourite lipgloss in the world. It is a gorgeous peachy pink with a lovely shimmer to it, and has the most amazing finish on the lips.
I love to wear this when I have smokey or darker eye make up on; it just makes me feel glamorous and feminine! The tube has a little mirror on the side and a light at the base of the brush, so you can still apply your lipgloss in the dark!
The Collection 2000 Hot Lights Lipgloss in Star retails for around £4.19 from drugstores like Boots and Superdrug.
2. MUA Lipgloss in Shade 3
Next up is the MUA Lipgloss in Shade 3. I apologise in advance to my readers overseas – I know it’s super frustrating that you can’t get this amazing brand in other countries but hopefully some day it will be available! When MUA first sent me this product I was unsure about it – red glosses can look gloopy and aren’t really my thing. However, I was surprised to find that it actually looks subtle and lovely on the lips!
It looks super pretty and isn’t a sticky gloss at all. Perhaps this one will be one I dare to wear out in public – my hair better stay away! This MUA lipgloss is just £1 from Superdrug.
3. Beauty UK Lip Lust in N0.6 Oh Baby
I have to admit that when Beauty UK first sent me this lipgloss, I automatically assumed I wouldn’t like it. For some reason, baby pink and me don’t mix – but I was in for a pleasant surprise! It looks cute, subtle and shiny on the lips; it almost gives them a healthy glow.
See what I mean? Gorgeous! And, it retails for just £2.99 – you can find it in drugstores like Superdrug or from the Beauty UK website.
4. Wet n Wild Speed Gloss in #941 Manic
It’s always fun to include a product that is available in places like the US, so I’ll finish by talking about this Wet n Wild lipgloss! Now I have to say that I really dislike how sticky this product is – but I absolutely love the colour! It’s a tough one, and the texture of it has prevented me from wearing it out in the past, but I’m tempted to ignore that for the sake of how gorgeous the shade is. I was sent this from the US in a swap with a YouTuber called Megan, aka EasyAccessBeauty.
There’s a shimmer to the gloss too which makes it all the more irresistible! Obviously, I’m not entirely sure where you can purchase this from in the US, but I believe it retails for around $4.
I hope this little guide has been helpful! Please feel free to leave me a comment and tell me about your favourite drugstore lipgloss.
