Review: MUA Professional Face Primer

For the first time, when I say the word ‘primer’ I’m not actually talking about an eyeshadow primer, but a face primer! As I wear foundation so rarely, I’ve never been able to see the sense in investing in a primer to apply before foundation – that’s why I was excited when MUA cosmetics kindly sent me their new MUA Professional Primer to try out!

MUA Cosmetics Face Primer Bottle

As  you can see from the little pink sticker, this is one of MUA’s new products from their £4.00 range. As the vast majority of face primers out there cost much, much more than that, how well could this work for the price?

The consistency of the liquid is much lighter than a moisturiser but still has a bit of something to it; I wouldn’t describe it as watery. I applied a good amount to my face, and it instantly smoothed out my skin in preparation for my foundation (which is, ultimately, it’s aim!)

I noticed that the application of my foundation was smoother than usual, which is great because I was going on a night out and didn’t want to feel that I had any cakey patches on my face. I thought that it would be a good test for how long the primer helps the foundation to last, as I tend to get quite hot from dancing!

When I arrived home, I’d had the primer and my foundation on for a good few hours…and the verdict? I can honestly say that my make  up looked as good, if not better, than it did when I left the house. How is that even possible?

I am shockingly impressed with this product – in fact, I don’t think I’ve experienced such a good product for such a low price in months. As I have sensitive skin, I’m always conscious of putting anything other than my Simple skincare products onto my face, but for a cosmetic item this was fine on me.

I would highly recommend this to anyone! It’s such a treat to find such a great product.

Stay Creative,

I’m such a big MUA fan so I love that you do many reviews on their products. I’ve never tried a face primer myself but for £4 (+ this review) I don’t think it could go wrong. 🙂

For the price of it I love this primer, although I do think it dries my face out a little bit, not too much though.
Also I really like the smell of it, it has a sort of “clean” smell to it, if that makes any sense.
